15 Jun Why we’re starting to share more of our thinking
One of the privileges of our profession is that we spend our days helping people make important decisions.
Some are financial.
Many are not.
Property decisions, retirement choices, helping children financially, business sales, inheritance planning, career changes and countless other life events all have financial consequences that deserve careful thought.
Over the years, we have noticed that the most valuable conversations rarely begin with a pension, an ISA or an investment fund.
They usually begin with a question.
- Can we afford to do this?
- What are we not considering?
- How will this affect the rest of our plans?
- Are we looking at the whole picture?
The answers often require more than technical expertise.
They require perspective.
The ability to connect different areas of a person’s financial life and understand the wider implications of major decisions.
That is how we have always approached financial planning.
As our business continues to evolve, we have decided to start sharing more of that thinking with clients.
Not because the world needs another source of financial news.
There is already plenty of that.
Instead, we want to share some of the ideas, observations and planning considerations that arise from the conversations we have every day.
Sometimes those thoughts will relate to financial planning.
Sometimes they will focus on property.
Sometimes they will explore wider economic issues or behavioural patterns that influence decision making.
The common thread will be helping people think more clearly about important financial decisions.
Over the coming months, you will begin to see more original articles from us alongside our regular client communications.
We hope they provide a useful perspective, stimulate thought and help you approach important decisions with greater confidence.
After all, good financial planning is rarely about having more information.
It is usually about making better decisions with the information already available.
